In the voice she was given, Desiree calls home.
Ancestral utterance, heartfelt journeys, and vocal mastery blend to form Desiree Jaha’s sound, built with care over a decade of singing, songwriting, and performing. A craftsman of song, she shares her voice as a front woman, composer, and producer of live, recorded, and digital experiences. Honed in the rigor of jazz and sacred practice of soul, Desiree roots in song as a vehicle to connect and build.
Together in art and action.
Extending her musical tradition into direct action, Desiree’s passion manifests in community care work. Across states and generations, she organizes with fellow musicians, youth movements, and local communities to craft networks of mutual aid and safety. She protects and honors the shared wisdom of her lineage of Black educators and community workers to build power as a matter of well being and survival.
A vision of tomorrow.
Desiree is an axis of healing and creativity. Her skills in Vibrational Energy Work, Kundalini Teachings, planetary gong works, and storytelling manifest songwriting as spiritual alchemy. She directs others with the wisdom gathered in her craft to heal and grow through song. Her teaching centers the knowledge in our bodies, our homes, and our communities, and guides us back to ourselves to envision and create our future.
